On Thursday, October 23, 2008, students in Miss Belle's Friday African dance class were lucky enough to perform at the MacDella Cooper Foundation's "Sharing the Light" Gala at the New York Athletic Club on Central Park South in New York City. In addition to the wonderful African dance performance, the dancers (and the rest of us) had the opportunity to meet the Hon. David A. Paterson, Governor of New York State, and the actress Michelle Trachtenberg--among other luminaries present. (The dancers were pretty much beside themselves at meeting Ms. Trachtenberg.) All for a good cause--abandoned and orphaned children in Liberia.
Ballet Arts thanks all the dancers and parents for their unflagging support of the Studio, the students, and the arts. Special thanks to Belle Golden and Lisa Gallina.
The dancers meet the actress Michelle Trachtenberg.

We meet the Hon. David A. Paterson, Governor of New York.
